Undefeated Season At Stake For UMW Women's Basketball Team

The University of Mary Washington Women's basketball team plays Wesley College in the season finale with an undefeated season at stake.

After gliding to an easy win Wednesday against Stevenson University, the 7th ranked University of Mary Washington women's basketball team will play this afternoon with the hopes of remaining undefeated against Wesley College.

The Lady Eagles are 24-0 heading into the game at Wesley and 15-0 in the league play in the Capital Athletic Conference. Senior Jenna McRae has led the team in its quest for an undefeated season and she scored 16 points Wednesday.

The last time UMW played Wesley, the Lady Eagles won convincingly 66-27, led by McRae's 13 points. This season is arguably one of the best for the university. The Lady Eagles won the Division III championship in three consecutive years beginning in the 1979-80 season, but haven't gotten past the final four since the 2006-07 season when the team went 31-3 and lost in the Final Four.

Today's game begins at 2 p.m.
