Update: Homicide Victim Identified, Suspect Charged In Stafford: Cops
Authorities in Stafford County have identified the victim in last week's fatal shooting and charged a 24-year-old man.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred at a Stafford apartment complex on Wednesday. Authorities have also arrested a suspect, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Police identified the victim as 45-year-old Anthony Jermaine Johnson. He died at the hospital after the shooting on Wednesday.
On Thursday, deputies arrested 24-year-old William McQueen during their investigation into the shooting. McQueen is charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

McQueen's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 25. If convicted, he could face up to 48 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at an apartment complex on Declaration Drive, police said. Responding deputies and bystanders provided first aid to the victim until an ambulance arrived. The victim died at the hospital later in the evening.
