Virginia, DC Have 34 Of America's Fastest-Growing Companies, Most Are Hiring

The economy's on the upswing, and some of the best, fastest-growing companies are popping up everywhere. Indeed, they may be right in your town or nearby. Business magazine Inc. has come out with its annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in America. We have the list of the 27 Virginia and seven Washington D.C., companies that made the top 500 (see below), and it's not a surprise that they are focused on providing government services and IT workers, with a few health and real estate firms in the mix, too.

Inc. said it picked the fastest-growing private firms in America because they are creators. "They create companies, they create value, and they create jobs — 619,631 of them over the last three years," the report said. "You'll also discover the newest hot spots, the coolest products, and the people who make it all happen."
The top company from Virginia was founded seven years ago and has experienced a three-year growth of 10,999 percent, while the top-listed firm from DC was.
