Police began an investigation on March 1 after being alerted to findings by a loss prevention employee. That person said on Feb. 22, he saw a customer with a cart full of groceries approach the register in the garden section of the store and noticed the cashier didn't ring up most of the items. When he later pulled up the transaction, he found that most of the items hadn't been scanned.
