When Are Virginians Most Likely to Die in an Accident?

Car accidents can happen at any given moment, but there are certain hours and days in which drivers in Virginia are more likely to die.

Virginia motorists might want to think twice before taking to the roads around noon on Tuesdays and on Sundays between the hours of 1:00 AM-1:59 AM and 2:00 PM-2:59 PM, according to a Richmond car accident lawyer.

Data from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles shows that in 2015, those days and hours were when the most fatal accidents occur and thus, were when Virginians are most likely to die in an accident.

Roughly 12 fatal crashes were recorded during each of those hours and days in 2015, the highest in the state. The second highest was Sundays around 2:00 a.m. (11 fatal crashes), followed by Tuesdays around 5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays around 3:00 p.m. (10 fatal crashes each).

Ranked from highest to lowest, here's how each day of the week stacked up when looking at the number of fatal car accidents recorded in Virginia in 2015:
