Woman Chasing Dog Killed On I-95 In Stafford: Police

A Stafford woman was killed Saturday night while chasing her dog following a crash on Interstate 95, according to Virginia State Police.

STAFFORD, VA—A Stafford woman was killed Saturday night while chasing her dog following a crash on Interstate 95, according to Virginia State Police. Katie M. Mason, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 10 p.m., Mason was headed south on I-95 in a 2007 Toyota Camry when she hit a guardrail. Her dog got loose, and Mason chased it into the southbound travel lanes, where she was hit by a 2012 Honda Civic. The dog was hit, as well, and also was killed.
