Woman Hospitalized After Assault By Roommate In Fredericksburg: Police
A woman was hospitalized on Sunday after her roommate assaulted her, causing serious injuries, according to police in Fredericksburg.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A woman was hospitalized after she was "brutally attacked" by her roommate in Fredericksburg on Sunday, the Fredericksburg Police Department said.
Police have not identified the victim by name. Authorities said she is still hospitalized with serious injuries.
After an investigation, police officers arrested the victim's roommate, 29-year-old Kayla Haley. Haley is charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding.

If convicted, Haley could face up to life in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines. She is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Around 5 p.m. on Sunday, the police department received a call from a local hospital about a woman who was assaulted. Police officers began to investigate the assault, but the victim could not speak to them because of her injuries, according to the police report.

Officers interviewed the victim's friends and family to determine that Haley had attacked her. Police then began to search for Haley, the police department said.
On Monday morning, Haley was arrested in Spotsylvania County, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
