STAFFORD, VA — A woman who admitted to multiple thefts and credit card crimes throughout Northern Virginia was indicted Monday by a Stafford County Grand Jury, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Chaquita Lanise Speight was charged with petit larceny, grand larceny, credit card larceny, credit card fraud, identify theft, obtaining money/goods/services by false pretense, forgery and uttering.

On Nov. 29, Stafford police responded to larceny reports from two Panera Bread locations, 24 South Gateway Drive and 1005 Stafford Marketplace. In both cases, victims said their wallets were stolen and credit cards were used at nearby Target stores.

Still photos of the suspects using the credit cards were obtained, and a store video showed the woman and a male leaving the Target in a beige sedan.

An investigation found the same suspects had committed similar crimes throughout the Northern Virginia area, including Fairfax County. Speight would rent a vehicle from a D.C.-based company using a phony identity and then use it during the thefts.
