Woman Injured In Shooting At Fredericksburg Hotel: Police

Fredericksburg police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with a shooting outside a hotel Tuesday night that left a woman injured.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating a shooting Tuesday night outside the Dunning Mills Inn on Route 1 that left a woman with an injury to her foot. The victim remains in the hospital, but the injury is not considered life-threatening, the police department said Wednesday.

Just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Fredericksburg 911 Center received a call from a witness who reported a man had fired a single gunshot outside the hotel. Patrol officers responded and found the injured woman. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Fredericksburg officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident, the police said. The suspect, Anthony Washington, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a charge of malicious wounding.
