Woodbridge Man Who Fled From Stafford Deputies Had A Child In The Car: Police

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Deputies used a rolling road block to end a car chase in Stafford County on Wednesday morning. Authorities said a driver, Ray Posey, Jr., fled from authorities after he made an illegal U-turn.

The chase began around 9 a.m. on Wednesday. A deputy said they attempted to stop a Chevy Tahoe that made an illegal U-turn at Warrenton Road and Olde Forge Drive. The Tahoe's driver did not stop, according to a report from the sheriff's office.

The Chevy Tahoe drove to I-95 north with deputy in pursuit. Other Stafford County deputies waited along the interstate with "tire deflation devices," authorities said. The driver exited I-95 at Centreport Parkway before he reached the staged deputies.

The driver reached speeds of 70 miles per hour as he attempted to exit onto I-95 southbound. Before the driver could reach I-95 again, the deputies performed a rolling road block, police said. The road block brought the Tahoe to a stop. None of the vehicles suffered damage, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies arrested the driver of the Tahoe, who they identified as Posey. Authorities said they found a boy in the Tahoe who was related to Posey. The child was taken to school at the request of his parent.

Posey faces charges of eluding, child neglect, possession of a controlled substance, driving suspended and a U-turn violation. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
