Your Input: Charting the Future for 2 Fredericksburg Communities

City and a D.C. planning firm are beginning comprehensive planning project, and they're seeking neighborhood input.

The Fredericksburg Planning Department is seeking residents' input regarding potential changes and improvements for two quadrants of the city and will hold neighborhood meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.

The two quadrants:

Planning Area 3 (including the Route 3 cooridor between I-95 and Jefferson Davis Highway, and the neighborhoods north and south of the area).

Planning Area 6 (including residential and commercial areas along Fall Hill Avenue, Washington Avenue, Princess Anne Street and Jefferson Davis Highway in the area bounded by the Rappahannock Canal and the Rappahannock River.

Featured during the presentations will be a planning and consulting firm, Streetsense, which will outline its plans in conjuction with city planners.

The Area 6 meeting is scheduled Tuesday at James Monroe High School; the Area 3 meeting, Wednesday the the Village of Idlewild Community Center on 2280 Idlewild Boulevard.

Both meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m.
