Officers had responded shortly after 8 p.m. July 3 to the 7900 block of Richmond Highway and determined that a 2025 Toyota Corolla was traveling south when the car struck Quintanilla, who was crossing the road outside a crosswalk, according to police.

Quintanilla was taken to a local hospital with injuries initially believed not to be life-threatening and issued a citation, according to police, who said alcohol appears to have been a factor for Quintanilla. The Toyota driver was not hurt and stayed at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 703-280-0543 or anonymously contact Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477, fcpdnews.org or the P3 Tips app, according to police. Anonymous tipsters are eligible for cash rewards and tipsters should leave contact information if they want a detective to follow up, police said.
