GROVETON, VA — Fairfax County police are searching for a man accused of scaling an apartment building to reach a third-floor balcony before entering the home and pulling a gun on the resident.
Officers responded to an apartment in the 3500 block of Robert E. Lee Place in Groveton around 7:35 p.m. on Aug. 29 for a reported burglary, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Detectives said the man threatened the resident while the resident was standing on his third-floor balcony. The man then climbed the exterior of the building, entered the apartment through the balcony and brandished a gun, police said.
The man fled before officers arrived. The resident was not injured.
Police obtained video of the incident and are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.
