Today's riddle: What did the wall say to the other wall. 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 13 Incredible U.S. Fire Lookout Trails With Breathtaking Views (onlyinyourstate.com) — One of the featured fire lookout hikes is the High Knob Tower Trail, with Harrisonburg listed as the closest town, giving locals a challenging 2.7-mile route to sweeping George Washington National Forest views. Expect steep climbs, late-summer wildflowers, and spectacular fall foliage along a ridge that straddles the Virginia–West Virginia state line.
2. Pair of Second-Half Scores Push Dukes Past Gardner-Webb - James Madison University Athletics (jmusports.com) — JMU men's soccer notched a 2–0 home win in Harrisonburg over Gardner-Webb, powered by second-half goals from Manuel Lolas and Håkon Rake at Sentara Park. Despite playing down a man after a red card, the Dukes' defense and goalkeeper Erik Jaspers secured the shutout as they now look ahead to a road trip to Radford.
3. Court vacates default in FCRA suit (valawyersweekly.com) — A recent federal court decision in Harrisonburg's Western District of Virginia vacated a default against EnFin Corp. in a Fair Credit Reporting Act case, allowing the company to defend itself. The judge found EnFin acted promptly enough, that the delay didn't seriously harm the plaintiff, and that attorney-fee sanctions and strict scheduling would adequately address the missed response.
4. ICE Arrests 1,328 Illegal Aliens in Major Virginia and Maryland Operation (vinnews.com) — A recent ICE operation across Virginia and Maryland included the arrest of one person in Harrisonburg who federal officials say has a felony hit-and-run conviction and prior arrests. The two-week sweep focused on undocumented immigrants with criminal histories and drew strong, pro-enforcement comments from Homeland Security leadership about sanctuary policies and public safety.
