2. A new indoor rec center? Passenger rail in Harrisonburg? JMU celebrates reopening of Carrier Library (rocktownnow.com) ā Harrisonburg residents and JMU students can now return to a fully renovated Carrier Library, which reopened today after more than three years of construction. The nearly 200,000-square-foot building blends restored historic spaces with modern, accessible design and now houses the nationally significant Furious Flower Poetry Center, expanding resources for both the university and the wider community.

Harrisonburg to consider ban on Flock camera contracts after cameras' removal (whsv.com) ā Harrisonburg officials are moving to cement their decision to remove Flock license plate reader cameras by drafting an ordinance that would bar the city from buying, installing, or operating similar systems. City leaders say they want to protect residents' civil liberties and make it harder for future councils to quietly reintroduce the technology, while clarifying that private businesses could still use their own cameras.

Virginia Breaks Ground on Animal Health Lab Expansions to Protect Livestock (tvdelmarva.com) ā Harrisonburg is one of three Virginia cities where new animal health lab expansions are breaking ground, strengthening protections for the Valley's massive poultry and livestock industry.
