• Harrisonburg Community foundation holds Dolly Parton benefit concert for education (whsv.com) — Harrisonburg residents turned out for a locally organized benefit concert supporting Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, managed here by the Harrisonburg Community Foundation. Local musician Rebecca Porter and several area artists performed Dolly songs, with all ticket proceeds going directly to children's literacy efforts, giving families in Harrisonburg a way to honor Parton's legacy while backing early education.
• Sentara RMH drive-thru flu shot event sets new record (whsv.com) — Harrisonburg's Sentara RMH Medical Center just set a new record by giving 235 flu shots during its annual drive-thru clinic, helping boost community protection ahead of peak flu season. Health staff say now is the ideal time for residents to get vaccinated, before holiday gatherings and the higher-risk months of December and January arrive.
• Low River Flow Keeps Front Royal Under Water Restrictions (thewinchestergazette.com) — Harrisonburg remains under a regional drought warning as state officials track low streamflows in the Shenandoah River basin, even while Front Royal imposes strict water restrictions on its own system. While the toughest rules currently apply to Front Royal users, Harrisonburg residents are urged to conserve water, fix leaks, and limit nonessential use as dry conditions persist across Rockingham County and nearby cities.
