HERNDON, VA — A driver is in custody after allegedly driving a stolen vehicle into multiple parked cars early Monday morning in Herndon, prompting a temporary road closure while police investigated.
The Herndon Police Department said in a social media alert posted at 3:55 a.m. that the crash occurred in the 600 block of Center Street.
According to police, the driver struck several parked vehicles before leaving the scene. Officers later took the driver into custody and determined the vehicle had allegedly been stolen.
The crash led police to close the 600 block of Center Street for a crash and incident investigation. All roads were reopened to traffic shortly before 6:30 a.m.
Authorities have not released the driver's identity or any charges as of Monday morning. No information about injuries was immediately available.
