Restaurant Week returns with almost 30 Fairfax County eateries participating (ffxnow.com) — Herndon diners can get in on D.C.'s Summer Restaurant Week right now, with Wiseguy Pizza on Elden Street among nearly 30 Fairfax County spots offering special multi-course menus through Aug. 30. Prices range from $25 to $65 per person, giving locals a chance to explore new restaurants or revisit favorites across the region.
• Morning Notes for August 24, 2026 (ffxnow.com) — A recent shooting near Birch Run Circle and Elm Tree Drive in the Herndon–Reston area led to the arrest of a teenager and two adults after shots were reportedly fired at a man's vehicle. The same roundup notes a continuing drought warning for Northern Virginia, major traffic enforcement efforts, and new infrastructure and business developments around Fairfax County.
• Rep. Subramanyam Condemns Imran Khan's Treatment, Questions Iran War Costs (southasianherald.com) — Herndon residents recently hosted U.S. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam as he sharply criticized the treatment of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and questioned the soaring costs of the U.S.-Iran war. Speaking at an August 23 event in town, he tied overseas conflicts to rising household expenses and highlighted the growing influence of Virginia's South Asian community.
