Man sentenced in Herndon shooting death of man who kicked Tesla (ffxnow.com) — A McLean man has been sentenced for the 2025 shooting death of a man on Elden Street in Herndon after an encounter involving a Tesla. He received a 10-year voluntary manslaughter sentence, with part suspended, after prosecutors argued he chose deadly violence instead of safer options, underscoring ongoing concerns about public safety on local roads.

It's a useful starting point for parents weighing private education choices.
5. ChalkFest at Reston Town Center 2026 (ffxnow.com) — Reston Town Center's ChalkFest on October 17 will feature colorful street art, live music from Bach to Rock Herndon, and free face painting, drawing many Herndon families just minutes away.
