Dog Days Aren't Over: Leesburg Dog Swim Returns In September

Leesburg's annual Dog Swim returns Sept. 12, giving local pups a chance to take an off-leash dip before summer ends.

LEESBURG, VA — Summer may be winding down, but Leesburg is giving local dogs one more chance to make a splash before pool season ends.

Registration is open for Leesburg's annual Dog Swim, set for Sept. 12 at the AV Symington Aquatic Center. Two sessions will be offered.

Dogs will be able to swim and play off leash in the enclosed pool area. All exits will be gated, and a veterinarian will be on site as a precaution.

What To Know

Dogs must be at least 6 months old, legally licensed and vaccinated. They must also wear a visible dog license.

Owners can bring a doggie dish for water if needed. Space is limited. Registration is available through the town's WebTrac system or at the front desk of Ida Lee Recreation Center.
