• Virginia DEQ fines Microsoft $2.5M over Leesburg data center (virginiabusiness.com) — Microsoft's Leesburg data center faces a record $2.5 million state penalty after running diesel generators during a 2025 power failure and exceeding fuel and emissions limits. The company has since invested in backup infrastructure, while the fine will fund new air-quality monitoring equipment in Northern Virginia's data center corridors.
• As I Lay Dying Announce 2027 U.S. Tour With Immortal Disfigurement (themosh.net) — Metal fans in Leesburg can mark their calendars: As I Lay Dying will bring their 2027 U.S. tour to Tally Ho on February 16, with Immortal Disfigurement joining the bill. The tour spans the country, but this stop gives local heavy-music listeners a rare chance to catch both bands live without leaving town.
• Loudoun Tops $5.1 Billion in Visitor Spending, Ranks No. 1 in Virginia (traveldreamsmagazine.com) — Loudoun County, anchored by Leesburg and Dulles Airport, just set a record with $5.1 billion in visitor spending for 2025, leading all of Virginia. Tourism now supports more than 19,000 local jobs and generates hundreds of millions in taxes, with visitors drawn to wineries, outdoor recreation, and special events that many Leesburg residents see and feel every day.
