SAR Presents colors at The Specialist Stephan L Mace, United States Army, Golf Classic

The Color Guard of the Sgt Maj John Champe Chapter presented colors to open the Specialist Stephan L. Mace Golf Classic at the Loudoun Golf & Country Club. The Golf Classic is a fund-raising effort for HeroHomes, a non-profit organization that builds home, finds Jobs and supports the community for military veterans.

Specialist Mace was a 21-year-old U.S. Army soldier from Loudoun County who was killed in action on October 3, 2009, during the heroic defense of Combat Outpost Keating in Afghanistan.

Participating for the Chapter were:Ken Bonner who carried a musket and acted as Color Guard Commander; Steve Van Deusen who carried the National colors; and Barry Schwoerer who carried the flag of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
