• Lenfest Student Selection Voting 2026-2027 : Washington and Lee University (wlu.edu) — Students in Lexington at Washington and Lee's Lenfest Center can now help choose a 2027–28 season headliner by voting between four touring acts, from illusionist Rick Thomas to the Soweto Gospel Choir. Voting runs Sept. 1 through Dec. 7 via QR codes posted around the Lenfest Center, giving students a direct say in which major performance comes to town.
• RC Volleyball Falls To TA (thenews-gazette.com) — Rockbridge County High School's volleyball team dropped a 3–1 non-district match to Turner Ashby on Monday night in Lexington, despite a strong 14-kill performance from Cesi Beidle. The Wildcats also lost standout Geneva Snyder to injury mid-match but will quickly regroup as they open Shenandoah District play Tuesday at Buffalo Gap, starting with JV at 6 p.m.
• She went to Nepal for her birthday. Now her husband is searching for her. (nbcboston.com) — A Lexington woman, 50-year-old Jiwan Jyoti, is among thousands still missing after catastrophic flooding in Nepal, where she had traveled for a birthday pilgrimage in the Himalayas. Her husband has flown there to search for her as officials report rising casualties and the U.S. State Department tracks roughly 100 missing Americans.
