1 Killed In Crash On Interstate 95 In Fairfax County

Virginia State Police​ said the collision occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 95.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — One person is dead following an early-morning crash on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County.

Virginia State Police said the collision occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 95 southbound at mile marker 163 in Fairfax County.

According to police, the drivers of the two sedans involved exited their respective cars and became engaged in an altercation.

As the altercation went on, police said one of the drivers stepped into another travel lane and was struck by a southbound Mercedes-Benz SUV. The SUV then stopped a short distance ahead.

The driver who was struck was taken to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have not released his name.
