1 Person Dies, Another Injured In Lorton Shooting: Police

LORTON, VA — One person died and another person was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting Monday night in Lorton, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police were called late Monday night about reports of gunshots fired in the 9800 block of Hagel Circle in Lorton, a residential area between Richmond Highway and Interstate 95. Fairfax County Major Crimes Bureau and Crime Scene Detectives arrived at the scene to investigate the shooting.

The police have not released any other information about the shooting or the identity of the person who died at the scene.

The shooting occurred in a residential area near where Fairfax County is building a new community center and remodeling the Lorton library.
