• Construction worker rescued by crane after getting trapped at Lorton water plant (ffxnow.com) — A construction worker was safely rescued by Fairfax County firefighters after becoming stuck about 40 feet down a concrete pit at the Noman M. Cole Jr. Water Recycling Facility in Lorton. The incident happened Monday afternoon during ongoing upgrades to the plant, which treats wastewater from across Northern Virginia and is undergoing a multi-year rehabilitation scheduled through 2027.
   

• Ghostface-masked suspect arrested after $8,000 in Virginia property damage (wbal.com) — Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old suspect after a surveillance operation tied him to multiple overnight vandalism incidents causing about $8,000 in damage at a Lorton homeowners' community center. Police say the man allegedly returned in a "Scream"-style costume before being taken into custody and now face several destruction of property charges; investigators are asking residents with information to contact Franconia Police Station.
