• Miles For Migraine DC 5k Run/Walk/Relax (ffxnow.com) — Lorton will host the Miles for Migraine 2-mile walk, 5K run, and Relax event this Saturday, Oct. 3, at Laurel Hill Central Green Park, supporting migraine and headache research and programs. Residents can join timed runs or free walk/relax activities, enjoy speakers, visit sponsors, and even compete for prizes by wearing purple flair.
   

• Annual NGEF Golf Tourney Raises Funds, Awareness (ngaus.org) — A major National Guard Educational Foundation golf tournament just brought more than 140 players and over $35,000 in fundraising to Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton. Local residents may notice the course hosting this annual event again next year, as organizers plan to return while continuing to support scholarships, the National Guard Memorial Museum, and veteran Honor Flight escorts.
