Exchange Students Visit Lorton, Virginia

Could you be a host family for 3 weeks this summer?  An opportunity to bring the world to Lorton students is available in July. Students ranging from 13 to 18 years will be coming for 3 weeks from France, Italy and Germany on an exchange program.

Among the activities they will be enjoying include trips to museums and monuments in the Nation’s Capital, the Baltimore Aquarium and Kings Dominion along with experiencing a day at an Adventure Park in Maryland, Bowling, Movies and Volunteer opportunities!

English classes are held each morning with an action packed activity planned for the afternoon.  The Xplore staff provides transportation to and from each chaperoned excursion.

A unique and important aspect of Xplore is that American host siblings are encouraged to participate in all activities. This provides the international students with cultural immersion and offers the host siblings a meaningful and fun way to spend their summer. The cost for host siblings participation is entrance to the planned attractions.

Volunteer host families are sought to participate in the three-week session. Your responsibility would be to provide room, board, transportation to and from the meeting place and a loving environment for three weeks. Our students are looking for a typical American family experience, which can be a Mom and a Dad, single parents or grandparents!

If you are interested in information, or hosting one of the international students, please contact Program Coordinator Sallay Kim at cskim@serenityes.com or 202-498-5218 with any questions.
