The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters Announces the 2013 Business of the Year Award Recipient

The National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), the only nonprofit trade association dedicated to serving the needs of professional pet sitters and pet care professionals, is pleased to announce Becky’s Pet Care of Alexandria, VA, as the 2013 Business of the Year Award recipient.
Each year, NAPPS presents the Business of the Year Award to a member who has demonstrated outstanding business practices and maintained the vision of growing his/her business. A comprehensive evaluation is conducted on all members being considered for the award. Areas of focus include:
- Commitment to the profession
- Management philosophy
- Reputation of client satisfaction
- Community involvement

Becky O’Neil was named the NAPPS 2013 Business of the Year Award recipient for many reasons; as a true entrepreneur, she developed her business as sole proprietor and sole employee 14 years ago and has since grown to service over 3,500 clients in the Alexandria, VA area. Becky’s Pet Care currently staffs nearly 100 pet care professionals in addition to a full administrative office. Under O’Neil’s leadership, Becky’s Pet Care continues to fulfill its commitment to providing quality and professional service to all clients and their pets.
“This award is so exciting for Becky’s Pet Care, it represents the hard work invested over the past 14 years to not only provide outstanding pet care, but also to develop a great business,” said O’Neil. “We attribute our success to providing our employees with the extensive training necessary for providing the best quality professional pet care.”

In addition to managing her active pet care business, O’Neil supports various local and national animal rescue groups and participates in several community organizations. She is the president of the Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitters Network, serves on the board of the Community Business Partnership in Alexandria and is the current president of her local Parent/Teacher Association.

O’Neil will be acknowledged at the 2013 NAPPS Annual Conference and Small Business Forum, February 8-10 in San Antonio, TX. Included in the award package for O’Neil is complimentary registration and travel to attend the event.
