The festival performances at the Hylton culminate with a concert of American music commemorating the First Battle of Manassas (Bull Run) featuring mezzo-soprano and Washington, D.C., native Denyce Graves. The concert will feature music by Ferde Grofe, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Foster. Joshua Weilerstein, winner of the 2009 Malko Competition for Young Conductors, will conduct Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances” from “West Side Story.”
