Heavy Fire Tears Through Fairfax County Home; Residents, Pets Escape Safely
Fairfax County fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire that displaced residents and pets.

LORTON, VA — A house fire caused significant damage to a single-family home in Lorton early Saturday morning, but all occupants and their pets escaped safely before firefighters arrived, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.
Firefighters were dispatched just after 1:15 a.m. on Saturday to the 8900 block of Jandell Road following reports of a house fire.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire showing from multiple sides of the home, with flames extending into the attic. Firefighters quickly launched an aggressive attack on the blaze while simultaneously searching the residence to ensure no one remained inside.

According to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, all occupants and pets had safely evacuated before firefighters reached the scene. No civilians or firefighters were injured.
The fire was extinguished without reported injuries, though the home sustained significant damage.
