Lorton Resident Thwarts Attempted Robbery by 3 Teens: Police

The teens surrounded the resident and said they had a gun, according to police.

Fairfax County Police say three teens who said they had a gun tried to rob a Lorton resident Tuesday night just outside the man’s apartment.

Police say the attempted robbery took place near 9700 block of Hagel Circle (see map below), Tuesday night at about 8:11 p.m.

That’s when police say the resident was walking alone outside his apartment when he was approached by three men who surrounded him and demanded that he hand over his wallet and cell phone. A gun was implied but not seen, police said.

The victim refused to hand over his property and the suspects fled, police said. There were no injuries.

Police said the suspects were described as three black males in their mid-teens. One suspect was tall, with crooked front teeth. Another was about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. The third suspect wore a white sweatshirt or sweater.
