Man Electrocuted Thursday In Lorton: Police

A man was electrocuted Thursday morning after coming into contact with power lines in Lorton, according to Fairfax County Police.

LORTON, VA—A man was electrocuted Thursday morning after coming into contact with power lines in the area of Mordor Drive and Furnace Road, according to Fairfax County Police. Bobby Blevins, Jr., 47, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly after 6 a.m., police went to the scene after a report of an unconscious truck driver on the side of the road. While paramedics were treating the man, officers noticed the metal arm of the extended truck cover appeared to be in contact with overhead wires.

Police says it's not yet known why Blevins pulled over and why he apparently raised the extended truck cover. The investigation is ongoing.
