Music Director Luke Frazier leads the National Broadway Chorus in three performances of Rise Up Singing! this October. This original program features new arrangements as well as choral and solo classics of Broadway show tunes and gospel favorites from Stephen Schwartz to Sam Cooke, Eric Whitacre to Dolly Parton and everything in between. Rise Up Singing! will be held at the Georgetown Lutheran Church in Washington, DC on Wednesday, October 22; at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA on Thursday, October 23; and at the Old Schoolhouse Auditorium in Waterford, VA on Friday, October 24.

A dynamic and multitalented ensemble, the National Broadway Chorus spent the 2013-2014 season creating unforgettable performances in Washington, DC. In June 2014 they performed a concert staging of Stephen Schwartz’s Children of Eden at The Kennedy Center to rave reviews. Maryland Theatre Guide said that, “The National Broadway Chorus provided the big vocal moments of the evening… [the] dramatic impact of anything in the show [was] due in part to the great sounding choir”. Led by Conductor Luke Frazier, the 24 singers of the National Broadway Chorus seek to promote and perform the Great American Songbook, as well as traditional choral repertoire and new works. This fall the National Broadway Chorus will also perform at a celebrity roast of famed chef Nora Pouillon and in a cabaret concert presented as part of a World Bank meeting. Considered a rapidly rising star in the pops world, conductor Luke Frazier has established himself as both an innately musical conductor and a sensitive pianist. In the 2014-15 season, Mr. Frazier begins his tenure as the newly appointed Principal Pops Conductor of the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, where he will conduct several programs of his own creation. Elsewhere he will make his conducting debut in one of his own programs with the West Virginia Symphony, and for the third year, Frazier will direct at the Beacon Prize award presentation at the Human Rights First Summit.

Tickets for Rise Up Singing! are $20 online or $25 at the door. For further information or for tickets for the National Broadway Chorus’ performances of Rise Up Singing! visit www.nationalbroadwaychorus.com
