Police Seek Suspect in Assault and Robbery of Woman in Lorton

Suspect took cash, touched woman inappropriately and struck her in the face when she attempted to fight back, police say.

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for robbing and inappropriately touching a woman as she exited her car in a Lorton apartment complex.

Around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, a 33-year-old woman parked her vehicle in the 7500 block of Woodside Lane in the Lorton area, according to police.

She exited her car and was approached by a man from behind, police said. The suspect stuck a hard object in the victim’s back and demanded money, police said. He took cash and property from the victim, then pushed her to the ground and inappropriately touched her, according to police.

The victim was struck in the face by the suspect as she attempted to fight back, police said. The suspect fled on foot behind the apartments, toward Richmond Highway, according to police.

The suspect was described as black and in his 20s. He was 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He had long, braided hair and may have had a mustache. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
