South County Little League Needs funding for lights
South County Little League in Lorton, VA needs help to fund their light project. SCLL is the only Little League in the area without lights.
South County Little League needs to grow in order to increase the talent pool and better serve the local community. To enable growth we need more field time. Since space is limited, we need more time. To have more time, we must have lights. The challenge is that the project is very expensive. We have a great complex in Lorton just off of Route 1. The fields are beautiful. Phase 1 of our project is to install lights on fields 1 and 2. It is not economically feasible to pay for them out of our current budget. We need more players. We need more revenue. We need more families eating at the concession stand. The only way to do this is by having lights at our fields. All the other Little Leagues in the area already have lights. For us to compete and grow the baseball program lights are a necessity. The community benefits by having more baseball and making it available to more kids.
