Man accused of placing cameras in dressing rooms across Lynchburg businesses facing more charges (wdbj7.com) — Lynchburg authorities say a 26-year-old former Dick's Sporting Goods employee now faces additional charges for allegedly placing hidden cameras in dressing rooms at multiple local businesses. Investigators are still identifying victims and locations, and are asking anyone who suspects they were affected to complete a victim identification form and contact the Lynchburg Police Department's lead detective by email for help and information.
2. University of Lynchburg reports surplus and enrollment growth (newsadvance.com) — Lynchburg residents can take heart that the University of Lynchburg is on firmer financial footing, posting a multimillion-dollar surplus and record endowment while welcoming 502 new undergraduates. The school is expanding accelerated degree options, online graduate counseling, and professional doctorates, aiming to grow enrollment significantly by 2032 and strengthen its role as a local education and economic anchor.
3. America's water infrastructure is reaching its breaking point (businessreport.com) — Lynchburg appears in a national look at aging U.S. water systems for its $104 million stormwater tunnel and pipe upgrade project, putting the city among communities making major infrastructure investments. The story explains how aging pipes, extreme weather, and rising costs are straining utilities nationwide and driving up local water rates for many residents.

James Madison Women's Soccer suffers 1-0 loss at Liberty (rocktownnow.com) — Soccer fans in Lynchburg saw a tight match Thursday night as Liberty edged James Madison University 1-0 with a late goal in the 82nd minute. Despite JMU outshooting the Flames and strong goalkeeping on both sides, Liberty held on for the home win before JMU heads to Baltimore for its next road game.
