University of Lynchburg AI Garage prepares business students to solve real-world problems with agentic AI (lynchburg.edu) — University of Lynchburg is piloting an "AI Garage" where a small group of business students build real agentic AI tools for local companies, gaining internships and job offers in the process. 2. Friends of Lynchburg Public Library to host paper shredding event (newsadvance.com) — Lynchburg residents will soon be able to bring bags and boxes of sensitive papers to the main library's parking lot for a Friends of the Lynchburg Public Library shredding fundraiser. The event supports local library services while giving you a secure way to clear out old documents, complementing recent investments like the city's new bookmobile.
3. Virginia approves historical marker for World War II fighter ace from Lynchburg (newsadvance.com) — A new state-approved roadside marker in Lynchburg will honor Lt. Gen. George G. Loving Jr., a World War II and Korea fighter ace who grew up in the Hill City. 4. WSLS 10's Clear the Shelters campaign leads to 956 adoptions across region (wsls.com) — Lynchburg pet lovers helped drive more than 280 adoptions at the Lynchburg Humane Society during WSLS 10's Clear the Shelters campaign, contributing to 956 placements regionwide. Local shelters say these adoptions free space for more animals in need and are still urging residents to adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate as they care for incoming pets.
