Rita's In Manassas Adds New Mermaid Italian Ice Flavor For Summer

MANASSAS, VA –Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is debuting a new flavor for the summer: Mermaid Italian Ice. The new flavor is blended into 2 new seasonal treats, the Mermaid Gelati and the Mermaid Ice Blender.

According to Rita's, Mermaid Italian Ice is a combination of sweet berry and marshmallow flavors, topped with the company's Unicorn Glitter. The Mermaid Gelati layers Mermaid Italian Ice with Rita’s vanilla frozen custard and is topped with more glitter. Finally, the Mermaid Ice Blender blends the bright pink berry-marshmallow Italian Ice into an ice-cold, smooth drink, finished with - you guessed it - more glitter.

Mermaid Italian Ice will be available at Rita’s locations nationwide from Monday, June 15, through Sunday, July 19.

Carmela Hughley, senior vice president of Marketing Insights and Innovation at Rita’s, says the treat "captures the magic and imagination of summer."

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard first opened its doors in Bensalem, PA, in 1984, and has expanded to more than 600 shops.
