MANASSAS, VA – A Manassas man has been charged with brandishing and other crimes after police say he waved a gun at restaurant patrons during a drunken argument.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers responded to the El Tio Restaurant on Linton Hall Road in Gainesville Friday night after reports that someone was brandishing a weapon.
Police say Robert Patrick Block, 27, of Manassas, had been at the restaurant and was intoxicated when he got into a verbal argument with another patron. According to the department, Block went to his vehicle, got a weapon, and returned to brandish the weapon toward multiple people in the restaurant at about 10:10 p.m., before driving away.
Officers found Block's vehicle and detained him without incident, the department says. He's been charged with five counts of brandishing, one count of driving under the influence and one count of refusing a breathalyzer test.
Block has been released on his own recognizance, with a hearing scheduled for November 5.
