MANASSAS, VA — A juvenile girl was killed and a 21-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in Old Town Manassas, according to police, who said the shooter remains unidentified and at large.
The girl was pronounced dead following the shooting, the Manassas Police Department said. Police have not released her identity or that of the wounded man.
Authorities did not immediately provide information about the man's condition, what led to the shooting or where it occurred.
No arrests have been made, and authorities continued to investigate at the scene.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the people involved to contact investigators. Authorities are also interested in photographs, cellphone video or doorbell-camera footage from the area. Photos and video can be submitted to investigators through the department's secure evidence-submission portal.
Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
