MANASSAS, VA — A man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting two victims when they were juveniles has been captured in North Carolina after fleeing Virginia, according to Manassas police.

Donaldo Antonio Buezo Hernandez was apprehended Thursday with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service. He faces four counts of rape in Manassas and is being held pending extradition to Virginia, police said.

The investigation began in April 2023, when an adult reported being sexually assaulted multiple times over several years while the person was a juvenile. Detectives later identified a second juvenile victim who reported being sexually assaulted multiple times by the same person, police said.

Buezo Hernandez was a family member known to both victims, according to police.

Detectives obtained four rape charges against Buezo Hernandez, but police said he fled Virginia after learning about the allegations.

Investigators initially determined he had gone to Pennsylvania, where authorities tried unsuccessfully to find and arrest him. His whereabouts remained unknown until August, when Manassas detectives developed information that led them to North Carolina.

Buezo Hernandez was taken into custody Sept. 10 and is awaiting extradition.
