PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – Prince William County supervisors are planning a public hearing and discussion of a noise ordinance tabled last year, according to a new report.
The Prince William Times reports that earlier in October, the Prince William Board of Supervisors decided to revive a proposed ordinance from 2025 that would reduce the amount of noise data centers are allowed to generate. That ordinance was dropped in favor of a more lenient one, which has so far not resulted in any noise violations for data centers, though more than a dozen complaints have been made to the county.
Staff have been instructed to present a report on the 2025 ordinance on Nov. 17. Board Chair Deshundra Jefferson says she would like to hold a discussion and plan for a public hearing and possible vote sometime after that.
