GREAT FALLS, VA — Great Falls has a new Northwest Federal Credit Union branch at Great Falls Center, the Herndon-based credit union announced Wednesday, following a grand opening celebration on Thursday.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and networking reception attended by local leaders, business owners and community members, according to the credit union. Northwest said the program also included remarks from President and CEO Jeff Bentley and an appearance by Rick “Doc” Walker and the Command Force.
The new location expands Northwest’s presence in Fairfax County and adds another branch in the region. According to the credit union, the Great Falls branch includes its fifth drive-through ATM, safe deposit boxes and an on-site Northwest Capital Management advisor for investment guidance and retirement planning.
“Many people turn to their local branch when they are seeking guidance they can trust,” Bently said. “We believe everyone deserves that opportunity to build financial confidence and security, and opening this new Great Falls location strengthens our ability to serve more members with convenient, accessible solutions to make that possible. This investment also reflects progress in our growth strategy and continued commitment to our core mission of meeting members where they are to support their financial well-being.”
To mark the opening, Northwest said it is offering two certificate promotions for a limited time at the Great Falls branch. The credit union said the certificate funds must be new to Northwest and that both products may be opened only in person at the branch.
Northwest Federal Credit Union now operates 16 branch locations across the region, according to the announcement. The credit union said it serves more than 280,000 members in the Washington area and beyond.
Northwest was established in 1947, according to the announcement. It offers savings and checking accounts, loans, mortgages and investment options, and it is federally insured by the NCUA.
