TYSONS, VA — Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center in Tysons announced a $13 million guest room renovation Thursday, saying the project redesigns all 300 guest rooms, including 18 suites, at the hotel connected to Tysons Corner Center.
The hotel, located in PenFed Plaza and near the Tysons Metrorail Station on the Silver Line, said the renovation was led by ownership groups Macerich and Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation. Woodbine Development Corporation, the hotel’s asset manager since 2015, led the transformation under the direction of King Scovell, managing partner and chief development officer, according to the press release.
The release said the redesign was led by design firm FlickMars and was built around a fashion-influenced concept tied to the hotel’s location next to the shopping center. The hotel said the 300 rooms were redesigned in three directions described as cool and crisp, warm and cozy, and light and modern.
“Macerich and Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation’s investment in this transformation reflects their commitment to ensuring that the guest experience at Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center matches the elevated, dynamic and fashion-driven nature of its location,” Scovell said. “Woodbine considers it a privilege to partner with the ownership team and to support the continued success of this sought-after destination.”
Christine Nerone, general manager of Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center, said the redesign builds on the hotel’s current operations and connection to Tysons. “This redesign is about building on what already works and taking it further,” Nerone said. “We are creating an experience that feels more connected to Tysons, more reflective of how people live today, and more aligned with the idea that a hotel stay can feel personal, elevated, and thoughtfully designed.”

James Flick, a FlickMars partner, said the concept drew from fashion houses including Ferragamo, Coach and Chanel. “With all layers of detail that come together, these houses influences guide the materials, tones, and layouts, resulting in spaces that feel curated rather than decorative,” Flick said.
The hotel said the direct connection to Tysons Corner Center will be part of future guest programming. Planned experiences include collaborations with select retailers, in-room styling elements and personalized shopping experiences. The release also said additional collaborations are planned with American Girl, Hershey Super Sweet Experience, Level99 and AMC Theater.
To mark the redesign, the hotel said it is offering a New Room, New Stay package for booking through Sept. 30 for stays through Jan. 31, 2027. According to the release, the package includes self-parking for one vehicle per night and a $50 food and beverage credit per stay.
