McLean Community Center Preliminary 2026 Governing Board Election Results Released

MCLEAN, VA — Six McLean Community Center tax district residents won seats on the center’s 2026-27 Governing Board, according to preliminary election results.

The results must be certified by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on June 9.

Voting took place during McLean Day 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. May 15 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 16 at Lewinsville Park. Absentee early voting was held from April 1 through May 8.

A total of 1,639 votes were cast, including 1,521 adult votes and 119 youth votes.

The Election and Nominating Committee certified the following winners:

The Langley High School representative was determined by a coin toss May 26, in accordance with Election Nominating Committee procedures for tied races. Smith and fellow candidate Rayan (Ray) Zand Husain each received 39 votes.

The new members will join incumbent Governing Board members Doug Jeffery, Michael Monroe, Ron Keesing, Peter Pin and Liz Lawson.

The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area acted as tellers. MCC Governing Board Elections and Nominations Committee Chair Liz Lawson notified candidates of the results Saturday night at McLean Day. MCC presented the results to Supervisor Jimmy Bierman (D-Dranesville) on May 18.

Bierman is scheduled to present the results to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for certification at its June 9 meeting.

The outgoing board’s final meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. June 10. It will be followed immediately by the incoming board’s first meeting, when new members will be sworn in.

The McLean Community Center is an agency of Fairfax County Government at 1234 Ingleside Ave. Its divisions include The Alden Theatre and the Old Firehouse Center.

The MCC Governing Board provides oversight and guidance for the center’s programs, facilities and long-range planning.
