TYSONS, VA — Zara has reopened its flagship store at Tysons Corner Center after an expansion and renovation of the space, according to a company news release.
The renovated store brings together Zara’s women’s, men’s and kids’ collections in what the company described as a more unified shopping experience. The store also includes boutique-inspired spaces designed by Zara’s in-house architecture team to highlight new collections and special product launches.
The Tysons Corner Center location will feature a Shoes & Bags area and will be the first Zara store in the region to introduce Athleticz, the brand’s sportswear collection, to customers in the greater Washington, D.C., area, according to the release.
The store also includes several technology-focused customer service features. Shoppers can browse store inventory in real time, pick up online orders in store within two hours and use assisted self-checkout areas and automated return stations. The location also has a high-capacity pickup silo for customers collecting online orders in person.
Zara said the store includes energy management systems for heating, cooling and lighting. The location is connected to Inditex’s Inergy platform, which centrally monitors air conditioning and electricity use across stores.
The renovated store also includes a cardboard recycling point, a clothing donation container and a repair booking service. The repair service complements Zara’s online Pre-Owned platform for garment resale, according to the company.

Zara is part of Inditex, the global fashion company that also includes Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Lefties. Zara opened its first U.S. store in New York City in 1989 and now operates more than 100 stores in the United States, employing 6,000 people, according to the release.
Tysons Corner Center is a 2 million-square-foot shopping center anchored by Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Primark and a 16-screen AMC Theatres. The center has more than 300 specialty stores and restaurants and attracts more than 17.5 million visitors annually, according to the release.
