FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Fairfax County Public Schools students will return to classrooms Monday, Aug. 24, for the first day of the 2026-27 school year.
Before classes begin, new teacher training is scheduled for Aug. 10-13. Professional workdays for staff will follow Aug. 14 and Aug. 17-21.
The calendar includes Thanksgiving break from Nov. 25-27, winter break from Dec. 21 through Jan. 3 and spring break from March 22-26. The final day of school will be June 16, with an early-release schedule.
