Boater Identified As Man Found Dead In Potomac River Near Leonardtown (thebaynet.com) — Authorities have confirmed that the body found in the Potomac River near Leonardtown is a Washington, D.C. man whose empty boat was discovered off a residence shoreline in Montross on September 7. Multiple Virginia and Maryland agencies, including Westmoreland Fire Department and Virginia Conservation Police, searched for five days before the recovery. Investigators say foul play is not suspected, and an autopsy is pending.
