• Tour de Mount Vernon Returns Oct. 31, 2026 (thezebra.org) — Residents of the Mount Vernon District can join the 11th annual Tour de Mount Vernon community bike ride on Saturday, Oct. 31, starting 8:30 a.m. at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton. Riders can choose 20- or 40-mile routes highlighting Potomac Banks' historic and ecological sites, with police and ride monitors providing safety support. Check Fairfax County's website for final routes and registration updates.
   

• Alexandria-Area ZIP Code Posts Second-Biggest Home Price Jump in Northern Virginia (alexandrialivingmagazine.com) — Homebuyers and owners in Fairfax County's Mount Vernon District should note that ZIP code 22307, covering Belle Haven, Belle View and nearby neighborhoods, saw a 44 percent jump in median home prices this year. The rise is driven largely by more detached home sales, pushing the median to $785,000 and making it the second-fastest appreciating ZIP code in close-in Northern Virginia.
